QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA licensure as a World Language Teacher 5-12 (Language(s): French & Spanish).
- Experience teaching French & Spanish Levels 1 through 4, at the middle/secondary school level.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully motivating students of varying ability levels, skills and achievements.
- Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain daily and long-range plans consistent with the established curriculum and the goals of the system.
- Follow the department curriculum to provide activities, which stimulate growth in listening reading, speaking and writing the language.
- Provide instruction and learning activities which take into consideration the individual differences of children.
- Exercise appropriate classroom control to help children grow in the ability to be self-disciplined and accept reasonable control.
- Provide a system for communicating with students, parents, counselor and administrators regarding student’s progress.
- Evaluate student progress and classroom activities on a daily and long-range basis.
- Attend meetings of department as called, serve on committees for curriculum revision and for the general operation of the school.
- Continue professional growth by attending meetings, seminars, course and other professional activities.
- Cooperate with staff and principal in extracurricular activities.
- Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal and/or Department Head.
REPORTS TO: Department Head, Building Principal
SALARY: In accordance with FEA Unit A Contract
