 Job Summary: 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) collaborates with Senior Management Team regarding agency decision-making in the absence of the President. The CFO is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure successful financial performance. The CFO is also responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the annual budget and evaluating financial performance, and improving overall financial efficiency. The CFO will participate in strategic planning and implementing long-term objectives to help the organization in meeting its goals. The CFO oversees the Finance Department and Human Resources departments including policies and procedures. The CFO represents Finance Department attendance at Audit & Finance Meeting, Senior Leader’s Meeting and Board of Director's Meeting, Staff Meeting, and Property Maintenance Meeting.

Essential Functions: 

Accounting:

  • Preparation of annual operating budget for the agency, its subsidiaries, and each Limited Partnership
  • Produce monthly financial statements for all entities to present to the Audit & Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Regularly report actual and forecasting financials to President.
  • Responsible for cash management.
  • Keeps accounting software up-to-date and staff trained on usage
  • Prepares monthly financial statements for corporation and each project
  • Prepare all year-end financial reports and audit work papers as well as work with Auditors during an audit
  • Responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in all financial areas
  • Maintaining and implementing policies and procedures for Finance and Human Resources Department
  • Assists in the preparation of A133 audit with outside auditing firm
  • Procures auditors, as needed, including obtaining engagement letters
  • Prepares financials and works with Grant Auditors on an as-needed basis
  • Perform monthly variance analysis of budget to actual and recommend course of action
  • Prepares quarterly reports for Limited Partners 
  • Consult with President regarding the financing of new projects and agency business ventures 

Property Management:

  • Oversight of building assessments for needs and capital repairs on a bi-annual basis

Administrative: 

  • Maintains all corporate and property insurances 
  • Oversight of all contracts, agreements, and other legal documents 
  • Review Administrative Assistant’s Meeting Minutes as needed
  • Oversight of procurement of benefit providers (professional liability, health/dental, worker’s compensation, retirement, etc.)
  • Liaison to benefit providers regarding agency issues
  • Member of the Crisis Response Team
  • Participate in in-service training
  • Perform other duties assigned. 

Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience/Certificates/Licenses): 

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • 10 years accounting experience or more 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel & Word 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CPA Preferred
  • Non-profit accounting experience strongly preferred

Salary : $125,000 - $155,000
