Love kids and want to provide programming to empower our youth and families? Cortland Prevention Resources, a division of Family & Children's Counseling Services, is seeking a Prevention Specialist to join our team in Cortland, New York. Great benefits and professional work environment!
Duties:
· Provide programming to educate the community and schools about the risk and protective factors associated with addiction, substance abuse and related social problems.
· Together with the Prevention staff, establish, coordinate and implement Evidence Based Programming working with youth of all ages in schools and families in the Cortland County community.
· Together with the Prevention staff, promote supportive communities and healthy development for children, adolescents and young adults.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associate degree in related field with experience working with at-risk youth and families. Good communication and organizational skills a must. The ideal candidate would have experience with parenting strategies and family dynamics. Experience providing workshops and public presentations preferred. Team player essential.
Full-time and 10-month positions available. Some occasional evening hours are required. Supervision and training provided. Competitive salary and benefits.
