Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities of other employees.
Supervision Received
This position will report directly to the Member & Employee Supervisor
People Contact
Ability to work well with other employees, members and others involved in the members care (childcare providers, housekeeper, house maintenance vendors etc.), and other professionals working for or with the member (caterer, dog walker, dry cleaner, etc.).
Decision-Making
Moderate decision-making ability, as directed and authorized by the member or company.
Qualifications
- Able and willing to drive their personal car
- Able and willing to use their personal cell phone for communication and be technology friendly
- Able to read, speak, and understand English fluently
- Excellent communication and phone skills
- Computer skills, including internet
- Know how to operate household appliances such as dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, vacuum, camera.
- Willingness to complete household chores such as dishes, laundry, and light cooking
- Willingness to run errands and event assistance
- Able to lift and carry household items including but not limited to laundry, groceries, and/or small moving boxes.
- Comfortable in water and at the beach, and ability to safely swim
- Willing and capable to administer first aid, medications, epi-pens, and be exposed to bodily fluids such as blood, vomit, urine, feces, and take children to medical, dental, or vision appointments.
- Comfortable around pets
- Comfortable with activities that may cause motion-sickness
Education And/Or Experience
Required: At least three years’ experience in organization, personal assisting and family behavior to successfully perform this job. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Required:
- Valid drivers license
- Personal auto insurance
- CPR/First Aid certification for infant, child, adult
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
BODY POSITIONS: Includes finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. This position sometimes requires climbing or balancing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
BODY SENSES: Must have command of the senses of sight, hearing, speech, and touch. Must be able to see (20/20 vision with glasses) and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms. This position sometimes requires the sense of taste or smell.
Work Environment
The work environment for this position can vary by the day. The position will primarily be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The position will sometimes be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather). The position may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat and cold (non-weather), or risk of electric shock. This position may also work near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, or with fire.
The noise level in the work environment can vary by the day. It can be very quiet, quiet, moderate, loud, or very loud depending upon the activities requested by the client.
