Family Development Services, a Head Start Organization is looking to hire self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and energetic leader. Person must prefer to work with children ages 0 to 5 years old and have experience with leading a team. FDS offers all staff the opportunity to work with families in a dynamic, supportive, and fun environment.
Family Development Services Center Director will direct and supervise staff and activities of Head Start center to ensure integrated service delivery and improvement in the children's literacy, numeracy, language, cognitive, fine/gross motor skills; promote parental involvement and participation in Head Start classrooms and in training opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include
- Responsible for recruitment of children/families for center capacity.
- Maintains funded enrollment at their center throughout the school year.
- Conducts daily, weekly and monthly formal and informal observations in each classroom.
- Ensures in Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms are in accordance with the Performance Standards and agency policies.
- Reviews and monitors facility budget.
- Implements, monitors, and administers coaching/disciplinary action when necessary.
- Interviews and recommends hiring of teaching and center staff.
- Reviews and monitors facility budget.
- Facilitates and works with parents to plan monthly parent meeting.
- Performs classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher.
- Responsible for quality assurance and checkpoints for each classroom in the center each year. .
- Communicates with children, staff, parents and the public in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college or university. A related field is defined as a program of study that includes successful completion of eighteen (18) credit hours in Early Childhood Education / Child Development.
- 1 yrs management experience and experience working with children
- Strong computing skills using Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in classroom as needed, including standing, walking, stooping, crawling, sitting and other physical requirement of working with children.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
