Behavior Interventionist Specialist

Summary:

Behavior Interventionist will be responsible for developing and implementing behavior intervention plans and providing individualized instruction and support to children with special needs and behavior concerns.  The Behavior Interventionist will work with specific children, who have been identified as exhibiting problematic behaviors and replacing them with positive behaviors.  

Role/Responsibilities:

• · Develop and implement behavior modification plans to address identified behaviors or goals.

• · Be responsible for providing support and guidance to children of all ages and families with developmental and/or behavioral difficulties.

• · Develop action plans and behavior intervention plans for identified students, including strategies for teaching new skills.

• · Monitor and evaluate student’s progress and make modifications as needed to action plans and behavior plans.

• · Collect and analyze data to determine student’s progress and needs.

• · Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with children, families, and staff.

• · Collaborate with other team members, Mental Health Coordinator, Disability Coordinator, Center Manager, Family Advocate, Teachers, and other professional staff to ensure comprehensive support.  

• · Participate in team meetings or other professional activities as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• · Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, behavior analysis, or other related field.

• · Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical or school setting with children with special needs and behavioral difficulties.

• · Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions related to behavior modification.

• · Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and problem-solving skills.

• · Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• · Able to develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and other professionals.

• · Additional duties as assigned.
