What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) position at Family Health Center on Virginia?
Family Health Center on Virginia is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The ideal candidate will assist with supervising nursing staff, assisting with clinical training of new and existing staff, and act as general resource for nursing personnel. The candidate will work in conjunction with the Director of Nursing to monitor clinical activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists the Director of Nursing with;
- Day to day activities performed by the clinical support staff as they provide quality health care services to the patients support in support of the medical providers.
- Ensures adequate orientation, training, and cross-training of the clinical support personnel.
- Participating in the review and revision of clinical support protocols in accordance with the Center’s policies and guidelines and various funder’s requirements.
- The investigation of problems and adverse incidents and in determining appropriate action and follow-up to include ensuring proper documentation.
- Monthly reports, patient education and analysis of program activities.
- Supervising quality assurance in the day-to-day activities.
- Employee health.
- Ensure that all necessary infection control standards are met at all times.
- Serve as EMR super-user.
- Ensure all staff-required documentation and training is completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Validate competencies for clinical staff and submit to Human Resources.
- Engage and suggest change to departmental processes to address clinical compliance and competency issues.
- Assist in development, maintenance, and deliverance of nursing policies, procedures and employee training system.
- Participate in required department meetings and committees, as assigned.
- Assist with coverage for nursing staff when needed.
Education requirements: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and graduation from an accredited LVN program. Continuous education as required by the State Board of Nursing. 2 years’ experience in a management position or supervising staff required.
Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas with current CPR Certification.
