What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Advocate position at Family Rescue, Inc.?
The Legal Advocate will assist in the development and implementation of services for adult victims of domestic violence. The Advocate will provide all necessary advocacy, and link clients to needed services. The Legal Advocate has the responsibility to provide information and IDVA advocacy and support to clients of the agency. Assist clients, in the court setting, in obtaining Orders of Protection. Other duties may include:
- Provide coordination and advocacy with law enforcement officers, judges, state's attorney, and clerk of the circuit court on behalf of victims of domestic violence, to ensure provision of services
- On behalf of the clients and or the agency, will coordinate and advocate with outside entities which may include social service organizations, mental health organizations, substance abuse organizations and or other legal/law enforcement agencies.
- Provide community presentations/trainings
