Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Any relevant experience in related field.
  • Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in survivor/human services field.
  • Experience Required: Any relevant experience in related field.
  • Experience Preferred: 3 Years of experience working in human services field with survivor services.
  • Valid drivers’ license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required.  Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.

 

Position Specifics

  • Position Hours: Primarily Monday-Friday (8:30am-5pm) Flexibility needed for clients' needs and 32 Hour Work Week

  • Hourly position at $24.04/hour
  • Location: Primarily Davenport, IA. May travel to Muscatine, Louisa, Clinton or Jackson County if needed

 

Position Details

The Advocate of Iowa Domestic Abuse will support and intercede on behalf of victims and survivors of domestic abuse in Scott, Muscatine, Louisa, Clinton, and Jackson Counties. This position will provide education, prevention, and outreach programs to schools (preschool through post-secondary), community agencies/organizations/businesses, civic groups, religious groups, and other community partners. This position will advocate for the survivor in multiple settings. They will also function as part of the Domestic Abuse Comprehensive Services team, provide crisis intervention services, and adhere to program and agency policies. This position must be available and capable to participate in the 24 hour on-call rotation for Survivor Services. This position must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor – Braking Traffik & Iowa Domestic & Sexual Abuse. This position will need to have a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
