Family Service League (FSL) helps individuals, children, and families to mobilize their strengths and improve the quality of their lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. With over 60 social service programs in more than 20 locations and committed staff and support personnel of approximately 700, we continue to serve Long Island’s most vulnerable citizens.
Family Service League is seeking an Instructor who will provide substance abuse primary prevention education to middle school children, parenting education programs, and social emotional lessons to the community at large.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute substance abuse prevention and character building programs in elementary schools and other settings.
- Create and execute substance abuse prevention community presentations.
- Participate in Health Fairs.
- Complete data entry.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Two years’ experience conducting presentations to children and adults required.
- Extensive knowledge of illicit and abused substances.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.
