Position Summary: To provide all fiscal analysis and fiscal management of the Agency. Diverse scope of accountabilities include: providing strategic financial expertise to CEO and management team; all financial reporting, general ledger, billing, pension, accounts payable/receivable and payroll. Assures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and laws.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees all of the finance and accounting functions for FSRI and its affiliates Lucy’s Hearth and Realty Holding.
- Closely supervises the finance team, including helping them develop their skills by providing coaching and mentorship.
- Assesses and monitors the financial performance of the organization as well as possible risks, investments, and funding sources.
- Prepares and presents the organization’s financial statements and program reports to the CEO, Finance Committee/Board of Directors (BOD), and executive team on a monthly basis.
- Drives the process for the preparation of the annual and project budgets, monitors budgets to assess financial performance, and works with budget managers to understand, track, and manage budgets throughout the year.
- Conducts financial reviews and analyses, generates forecasts, and develops reports to guide the executive team, Finance Committee/BOD, and others.
- Ensures financial records comply with accepted principals, policies, and procedures, including funder requirements.
- Identifies and implements efficiencies to streamline accounting processes and procedures; monitors compliance with accounting policies, including internal controls.
- Reviews procurement requests and invoices at/above CFO approval threshold to ensure they align with procurement and payment policies and budgets; serves as primary signatory for payment instruments (e.g. checks).
- Directs cash, investment, and asset management, and ensures the availability of funds as needed.
- Reviews and negotiates contracts.
- Seeks and recommends partnerships related to funding opportunities that position the organization to meet its goals.
- Leads all audits and tax return filings.
- In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice President of Human Resources, conducts analysis of benefits on an annual basis; administers the organization’s 403b/401k plans.
- Seeks to inform themselves about the compliance environment of the job and leads by example as a leader to ensure compliance is top of mind in all dealings. Ensures all activities for self and others on the team are in alignment with applicable laws, rules and policies.

- Serves as an integral part of the executive team and participates in their on-call rotation.
Qualifications:

- Experience with multiple complex funding sources, understanding of State and Federal funding sources and third-party payer billing preferred.

- Solid technology skills, including the ability to pull informative data utilizing systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments as a member of a shared responsibility team.
- Proven experience in thinking and acting strategically.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
Physical Requirements: This position requires agency and community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:
- Travel to and from community locations and agency sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
