What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Supervisor position at Family YMCA of the Desert?

Education and/or Experience

· Degree is in Child Development or Child Development Site Supervisor permit.

(or)

· Must have 12 Early Childhood Education Units- 3 units being in staff relations or administration.

· 4 years of early childhood development experience as a teacher

· 1 year of supervisory related experience

(and)

· Must be willing to take Administration courses, as well as childcare orientation and recordkeeping courses through Community Care Licensing.

Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities

· Must be age 23 or older to be insured through our company auto policy

· Must be willing to be van trained through the YMCA to transport children

· Must have Microsoft office experience (Excel, outlook, word)

· Experience with payroll/timekeeping systems

· Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to learn the YMCA enrollment, payment systems

· Ability to related well to both children and adults

· Ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity

· Physically able to lead and supervise active sports and games with participants

Required Licenses/Certifications

· Pediatric CPR and first aid certification within 30 days of employment

· Child Abuse Prevention training within the first 14 days of employment

· Mandated Reporter certification or within the 1st day of employment

· Pesticide Training or within 1st day of employment

· Current valid driver’s license

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Plan, supervise and implement the program in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA.

· Understand the staff dynamics; recognize achievements and promptly address concerns.

· Hire, onboard, train and discipline staff members as necessary, will also complete 90 day and annual evaluations of staff members on team.

· Support each staff member with regular conversation and communication regarding participants, and participant guardians, as well as concerns and work schedules.

· Work with site staff to produce a monthly calendar of activities and posted in a timely manner for participant guardians; activities must include outdoor and indoor activities.

· Interact daily with each participant and participants guardian in a positive and professional manner.

· Plan a field trip schedule for summer program; coordinate the van schedule with San Pablo YMCA.

· Engage in conversations with guardians, discussing positive aspects and or concerns regarding the participant.

· Ability to contact guardians in case of an emergency, participant is ill or to discuss behavior and disciplinary issues.

· Physical ability to lead and supervise active sports and games with children, monitor behavior. requiring separation and oversee curriculum activities and housekeeping responsibilities.

· Interact with the Community Program Director regularly, to provide updates on program, activities, staff, and communication with guardians.

· Maintain a clean and organized environment, be aware of inventory needs and preserve the quality of supplies, equipment, and materials; provide orderly arrangements, appearance, and learning environment of site.

· Purchase supplies for the sites, including food and food service items. Maintain proper amount of each and communicate with other site supervisors to help each other out.

· Monitor daily attendance of staff and program participants.

· Schedule staff based on needs for the site and participant enrollment; develop availability with each staff member.

· Monitor staff time sheets through the company’s payroll system, review, correct, edit, and approve accordingly to the pay period submission dates (this includes split shift pay).

· Adhere to the YMCA emergency procedures, keep emergency information current on each participant and ensure the safety of all participants.

· Collect program fees, issuing receipts, inputting amount paid into the company’s system and create data sheets to deposit checks/money order to finance; review aging reports to keep accounts current and submit payments to the finance department.

· Update rosters with new or dropped participants

· Maintain contact with Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) for any updates with participants alternative payment programs (APP); these include printing out certificates and sign in sheets.

· Maintain communication with Community Care Licensing regarding updates.

· Develop and maintain relationships and communication with school site staff on campus and DSUSD district office; includes events and facility usage.

· Work with other site supervisors to fill the staffing needs for each site location.

· Conduct staff meeting, to communicate program/YMCA needs or changes staff training and positives about the program; encourage staff interaction and team building.

· Support, promote and participate in all YMCA events when it’s required by your supervisor.

· Adhere to state licensing requirements and the YMCA quality check guidelines to maintain a high standard for program staff and curriculum.

· Maintain a professional attitude and support policies and procedures of the YMCA.

· Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote, and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers.

· Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.

· Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers.

· Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.

· Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.52 - $23.00 per hour
