Familylinks is seeking a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within our Behavioral Health Department. In this role, you will work collaboratively on services with physicians and other mental health providers as well as complete intake assessments and participate in the overall care of patients.

Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities:
- Complete intake assessments, individualized treatment planning and ongoing clinical assessment to evaluate progress and other treatment needs.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Participate in the care of patients as an active part of the treatment team and works under the supervision of the physician/CRNP.
- Assists in completing prior authorizations for medications to be approved and covered by the patient's insurance.
- Communicate with clients (parents/guardians of clients who are minors) to discuss treatment, side effects, laboratory results, medication refills, or other clinical concerns.
- Under the supervision of the physician, administer medications as needed.
- Assist in transferring orders to the pharmacy.
- Evaluate vital signs, height, weight and waist circumference as part of a patient's evaluation and ongoing treatment planning.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist in coordinating care with other behavioral health or medical providers.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, discussions and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.
- Attend supervision, training and meetings as directed.
Requirements
Licensed Practical Nurse Requirements
- LPN diploma and active PA licensure with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working directly with individuals with complex trauma, co-occurring mental health and substance use.
- Ability to work with youth, adolescents, and families strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of persons and/or families living with mental health and substance use.
- A valid driver's license along with access to reliable transportation.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, privacy laws, and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of DSM 5- TR.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain well-informed with MCO, County, State, and Federal policies and procedures.
- Time management and strong organizational skills helpful.
- Proficiency with MS Office, computer/laptop, tablet and cell phone required.
