Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with responsibility for managing invoicing and all accounting. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health, integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective financial management for Farallon. The Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations, while providing strategic insights to support organizational goals.
Duties
- Manage monthly invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger accounting process, including account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory reporting requirements.
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain accurate records and timely processing.
- Conduct financial analysis and account analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators and financial concepts.
- Lead budgeting processes and assist in forecasting future financial performance.
- Implement effective cash management strategies to optimize liquidity.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance with public accounting standards.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks for efficient financial management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management for a small business is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping and payroll processing.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with cash management techniques and budgeting processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
- Proficient in various accounting software applications; experience with QuickBooks required.
