    Position Purpose: Develop and implement student support plans to maximize academic achievement for students who are at-risk of not meeting grade level expectations due to missing skills in their approach to learning such as frequent absences, disengagement, and work refusals. Support will include strategies such as frequent check-ins, data collection, goal setting, encouragement, and reflection under the direction of administration and in collaboration with the MTSS team.

    Responsibilities
    1. Student Academic Success: with specific training in applied behavior analysis, collaborates with teaching and other school staff and families to increase student’s academic achievement.

    Priority: Essential | Percent of Time: 60%

    Examples of this work include:
    • Creates and implements academic goal-setting plans.
    • Works directly with students to identify barriers and missing skills in their approach to learning.
    • Implements daily and weekly check-ins with students to reflect on progress. Provides regular feedback to students.
    • Collaborates with team members including school administration, counselors, teachers, school staff to support and monitor student progress.
    • Sets goals, assesses progress, analyzes data, and modifies academic support plans.
    • Maintain student data tracking for each case-load student’s success areas including but not limited too attendance, academics, behavior, SEL, Graduation Pathway & Choice Ready, and PASH.
    • Conducts restorative conferences to support positive student interactions within the school environment.
    • Observes students to determine missing skills for school success and the generalization of skills.
    • Creates and maintains effective scheduling.

    2. Relationship Management: build a quality relationship with each student and family in their caseload.

    Priority: Essential | Percent of Time: 25%

    Examples of this work include:
    • Facilitates and promotes communication between home and school.
    • Communicates regularly with families, and initiates efforts to keep youth engaged in school.
    • Celebrates successful attainment of goals with students.
    • Develop a growth mindset and restorative approach.

    3. Professional Development: maintains, acquires, and expands position related theory and technical knowledge.

    Priority: Essential | Percent of Time: 10%

    Examples of this work include:
    • Contributes to the implementation of special projects when assigned.
    • Participates in professional development opportunities in the area of Special Education and/or Regular Education Standards-Based Education.
    • Participates in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.

    4. General Support: other duties as assigned.

    Priority: Secondary | Percent of Time: 5%

    Examples of this work include:
    • General student supervision as needed.
    • Participates in general staff meetings.


    Minimum Qualifications
    High School Diploma or GED.
    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, motivate, and inspire individuals and groups.
    Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Associates’ degree in a field of human services such as social services, education, psychology.
    Experience working in a school setting or experience working with youth; formal training may be substituted for work experience.
    Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
