What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Engineer IV position at FARM CREDIT FINANCIAL PARTNERS INC?
JOB SUMMARY: The Data Engineer IV is responsible for ingesting and transforming data so that it can be used for analysis and reporting. The position will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline for our Association partners. The Data Engineer IV primarily works with project teams on developing new data platforms to support strategic initiatives in alignment with business and/or enterprise strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead a data development project team in a matrix organization
- Provide guidance on support of the current data platforms
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
- Perform code reviews to ensure quality and best practices are maintained.
- Contribute to the effective data governance of the organization’s business data. This includes data quality, data management, data policies, business process management, and risk management surrounding the handling of organizational data.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coach and mentor junior engineers
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project status and delivery timeframes
- Fosters innovative team culture and process improvement during development phase
