Job Purpose: This primary responsibility for the Underwriting Associate is to provide administrative and technical support to underwriters in the insurance industry, helping them assess risk, process applications, and manage policy documents. The Underwriting Assistant gathers information, analyzes data, and ensures compliance with company guidelines, playing a crucial role in the underwriting process. The Underwriting Associate will assist & work with Underwriters so they can analyze, appraise, determine acceptable risks for business. This position will also assist the Underwriter in determining coverage and premiums that are both acceptable and competitive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in the analyzing of exposure based on risk, collects underwriting information when needed.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to help support underwriting decisions.
- Reviews coverage forms when appropriate and acts as an insurance resource for assigned Underwriters.
- Works with underwriting staff to ensure quote and policy information is entered correctly into the system.
- Works on special projects as needed, including the testing, and analyzing the data in our policy processing system.
- Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain written procedures for various job functions.
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:
· Entry level position – willing to train the right individual.
