A Senior Programmer/Analyst in the Administrative Computing department will provide technical services in support of the College's Ellucian Banner SIS (Student Information System). Supported areas include, but are not limited to: Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Finance, Institutional Research, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
Senior Programmer/Analysts are responsible for business analysis, application design, application programming, problem identification/resolution, maintenance and documentation of software projects in both a traditional hosted and SAS (software-as-a-service) environments.- Senior Programmer/Analysts must be able to function independently. In addition, they must have the ability to work closely with their functional counterparts in the college's Administrative Technology department as well as staff in the supported areas and assist in finding effective and efficient technical solutions to outstanding issues. Senior Programmer/Analysts must be able to multi-task and have the ability to analyze problems and formulate solutions in real time.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Administrative Technology. Flexible work options may be available.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in computer programming or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-
Two years of full-time programming experience utilizing Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and Java.
-
Solid understanding and experience in the use of relational databases.
-
Experience with systems analysis and design.
-
Demonstrable advanced knowledge of the following programming languages:- Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Java

A minimum of two years' experience in the Linux/UNIX operating system environment.
-
Experience must include writing/maintaining complex shell scripts (Bourne and Bash).
-
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor's Degree in computer programming or related field.
-
4 years of full-time programming experience utilizing Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and Java.
-
Higher Education experience, utilizing the Ellucian Banner SIS software product, in functional areas such as admissions, registration, student billing/finance, financial aid and alumni.

Prior SUNY experience
-
Demonstrable proficiency in the following programming languages: C , JAVA, Groovy, SQR, Scribe (DegreeWorks)

Experience/knowledge with one or more the following systems: Evisions Argos reporting tools, Oracle APEX web application design, FormFusion document enhancement and distribution solution, Ellucian DegreeWorks Degree Audit system, TouchNet U.Commerce solutions, Ellucian CRM Advise.

Additional technical, leadership or project management experience.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time UUP position.

Salary: $80,000 $3,026 in downstate location pay = $83,026 Total Annual Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
