Job Definition:

The Pipe Foreman will supervise the lay out, assembly and installation of various sizes and types of drain pipe. The Pipe Foreman will study project specifications with Pipe Superintendent to plan sequencing and schedule for pipe installation. The successful candidate for this role will have a demonstrated ability to recruit, train and retain crew members focused on safety, quality and productivity.

Job Duties

• Supervise while contributing to work activities of a 3-5 person construction crew members in their day to day activities
• Ensure compliance with the Company s Safety Policies and Procedures
• Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage pipe
• Sequences pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities and the public
• Ensure crews have tools, materials, and instruction to complete tasks
• Preplan schedule, manpower, and equipment needs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with the Project Management Team
• Coordinate material and labor needs with Project Superintendent
• Coordinate work activities with owner s staff and subcontractors
• Report quantities to management staff
• Understand and meet production rates to meet schedule and budget requirements
• Understand and utilize the Contract Drawings and Specifications

Essential Skills and Experience

• At least 3 years of Sitework experience and knowledge of project construction scope and objectives to include, but not limited to knowledge of laying pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains and water mains, reading and understanding plans
• Proven track record of working safely
• Layout ability with the use of auto levels, lasers, and other survey equipment
• Knowledge of construction planning and scheduling
• Ability to calculate quantities for materials and supplies
• Ability to effectively supervise small to midsized groups
• Ability to supervise rigging and signaling cranes
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans and specifications
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• High School Diploma
• Ability to travel
• Clean driver s record
