What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026/27 Instructional Math Coach (Grades 5-12) position at Fayetteville Public Schools?
Under the direction of the 7-12 Mathematics Director , the Instructional Math Coach promotes access, equity, and high-quality mathematics instruction for all students. This role provides direct instructional support to middle school, junior high, and high school teachers through coaching, professional learning, and data-informed practices, and providing direct support for students who have not yet achieved mastery with grade level essential standards. Key Responsibilities: -Provide direct instructional support to mathematics teachers through mentoring, coaching cycles, strategic planning, data analysis, and reflective practices. -Design, facilitate, and evaluate high-quality professional learning focused on mathematics content and pedagogy and other state or district initiatives impacting mathematics instruction. -Develop and produce asynchronous professional learning resources to support ongoing teacher growth. -Support the implementation of Fayetteville Public Schools mathematics curricula and resources through co-teaching, job-embedded professional development, collaborative planning, and instructional modeling. -Facilitate collaborative data discussions using structured protocols to inform instruction, align instructional resources, and promote student ownership of learning through meaningful feedback. -Collaborate with school-based administrators and instructional staff to develop mathematics-focused improvement goals that inform and align with the School Improvement Plan. -Engage in continuous job-embedded professional learning to strengthen expertise in mathematics content, pedagogy, intervention strategies, and instructional coaching practices. -Provide targeted intervention support for students by pushing into core mathematics classes, monitoring progress, and supporting instructional adjustments based on student needs. -Assist in the development, selection, implementation, and management of intervention resources aligned to FPS mathematics curricula. -Participate in required professional development and leadership learning opportunities to enhance instructional impact and coaching effectiveness. -Perform additional duties as assigned by the 7-12 Director of Mathematics.
