What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Engineering position at fcgov?
The
City of Fort Collins Engineering Department provides a full range of civil engineering
services, with a primary focus on transportation projects. Engineering provides total project management
capabilities:
-Construction inspection for all new streets and utilities being installed with new developments.
-Operating city vehicles to navigate between inspection sites.
-Maintenance, repair,
and upgrade of bridges and railroad crossings.
-Management of the
Pedestrian Improvement Program.
-Permitting for all activities that occur in the
City's street right-of-way.
-Assisting survey staff with
construction layout, topographic and boundary surveys.
-Valid Diver's License required
This position may benefit a Civil Engineering or
Construction Management student interested in learning more about different
aspects of Fort Collins Engineering. This position will assist City Engineering
staff in various aspects of their work, including field work.
Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per
week during Spring and Fall semesters, and 30-40 hours per week (full time) during
Summer. Knowledge of ArcGIS would be
beneficial, but not necessary. Knowledge
of SharePoint would be beneficial as we incorporate new technology
opportunities.
