As the Purchasing Manager you will be focused on executing our sourcing strategy alongside the Sourcing Manager. You will manage existing and new vendors, arrange logistics for product sampling and R&D, document specifications for all products, and oversee the process to set up new vendors and items in our systems and audit quality on all incoming products. This position partners with the Production and Operations teams to ensure continuous improvement to the supply chain and that all products meet or exceed Feast & Fettle standards.
Responsibilities to include:
Manage the purchasing program for all food-related categories and location-based requisitions, including sending POs and reconciling received product
Negotiate and conduct RFPs to secure competitive pricing
Build relationships with supplier network to ensure high quality and service
Drive accountability with all vendors
Collaborate with Product/R&D team for new product testing and new ingredient sourcing
Forecast product volumes 4 weeks at a time
Build weekly and monthly reporting and analytics to Corporate Executive Chef on all things vendor performance, inventory health, margin savings, spec information
Support the operations and production team with product changes or shorts and same day recovery
Update our suppliers with weekly, and up to, monthly forecasts
Ensure product quality standards via vendor relationships
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience high volume sourcing in food-service industry
Mastery of Excel
A thorough understanding of food sourcing industry and best practice methodologies
Strong negotiation skills
Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
