Purpose: Provides operational support to ensure compliance and control for the Bank's investments, debt, collateral and derivatives trading transactions, including authorization of wire settlements, trade entry review and other related activities. Requires judgment and interpretation as these financial instruments often include complex and non-standard terms that must be recorded timely and properly accounted for from multiple sources and types of documents. Specific Responsibilities: Perform accounting operational support for trading activities and documentation requirements including: Review the accuracy of data entry of new and terminated trades from varied and non-standard sources and ensure proper document retention Confirm trades with third parties and produce and/or monitor confirmations Verify principal and interest payments for areas of responsibilities, including preparing wires for related payments and work with third parties to resolve payment differences Reconcile broker statements/payments Review contract terms for documentation of proper derivative terms Maintain and adhere to proper internal controls within the areas of assigned responsibilities. Assist in resolving inquiries from the external auditors, internal auditors and other regulators. Continuously find ways to strengthen processes to minimize time requirements and enhance procedures in assigned areas. Work with management and peers to achieve department and Bank strategic objectives. Competencies: Business Job Knowledge General Decision Making/Judgment Dependability Accuracy People Communication Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business with concentration in Accounting or Finance. Financial institution experience working with, or in, a servicing or operational capacity is desirable. Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with internal and external parties to research and resolve discrepancies or reconciling items. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word. Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure while adhering to strict deadlines. Ability to set priorities and organize daily workflow. Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy. Must not have been convicted on any civil or criminal charge that would suggest a risk to Bank security. Ability to work full-time. Adheres to workplace rules and some working hours beyond normal Bank hours, as business needs dictate. Some overtime may be required. Ability to uphold and model the bank’s guiding principles.
