Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Manufacturing Processes, Planning Processes and related Business Process improvements on the shop floor including functionality in JD Edwards and other 3rd party systems that interface or impact the shop floor.
- Serve as the subject matter expert by understanding current system functionality and configuration while working to drive standardization.
- Participate in pre-project analysis work to enable informed decision-making about technology investments.
- Facilitate business process reviews when technology and software requirements arise to ensure implementation goals are appropriately defined and scoped.
- Works with stakeholders at all levels of business to gather, define and document business requirements for harmonization and modernization. Translating those requirements into various specification documents.
- Design high level process flows (using Visio).
- Develop test scenarios and test scripts.
- Triage reported defects and document findings.
- Create, coordinate and deliver training to ensure end-user readiness (e.g., documentation, demos, videos, etc.).
- Review legacy ERP and data for migration purposes when and if there is a new acquisition or non-JDE business coming on to JDE.
- Sort through user/contractor profiles to prepare for initial set-up and system implementations.
- Serve as a member of the user support team at go-live and through stabilization.
- Identify business requirements for the Manufacturing life cycle and develop recommendations for process improvements and automation.
- Through collaboration with users, define business requirements and determine the proper application for reports that either will be written via a reporting tool or as a custom report in JD Edwards.
- Utilize or develop processes to ensure the timely delivery of required information to internal and external customers.
- Assist with or as needed manage projects, developing project plans and other project documents and artifacts, and monitoring performance to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Monitor and respond to support tickets in a timely manner.
- Timely response and management of support tickets.
- Travel, as necessary, to support existing or newly acquired Federal Signal Businesses.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in one or multiple number of the Oracle - JD Edwards version 9.2 modules: Manufacturing/Shop Floor/Planning/Engineering/Inventory/JDE Configurator experience a plus
- Successfully completed at least one full implementation involving multiple site configuration set up, with proven incorporation of structured planning and testing processes
- Capable of understanding customer requirements in order to develop, present and deploy solutions based on those requirements
- Ability to prepare SQL statements using a tool such as SQL Developer or TOAD
- Good grasp of JD Edwards integration methodology
- Clear understanding of emerging technologies and enhancements that will allow processes improvements and enhanced business functionality
- Able to develop new or modify existing software solutions to satisfy business needs
- Good understanding of business processes to develop reporting based on requirements, metrics and KPI’s
- Effective team skills and the agility to work on multiple teams and projects
- Must be results oriented and deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work with users at all levels on a variety of technical initiatives and work in a cross-functional team.
- Able to multi-task with multiple projects and flexible timelines and expectations.
- Able to work independently in an efficient and detail-oriented manner.
