Job Description:
This position involves high levels of customer service with seniors. It offers an excellent opportunity to the customer service-minded experienced driver.
This job position's primary purpose is to drive Christian Care vehicles to transport residents to scheduled activities and appointments following Christian Care policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Drive Christian Care Vehicles to transport residents to scheduled activities and appointments.
- Monitor maintenance needs and report to the Transportation Coordinator for scheduling.
- Monitor vehicle registration, inspection, and timelines of other requirements to ensure state and federal compliance.
- Make certain that gas tanks are full, and vehicles are ready to use.
- Coordinate transportation schedules with events and appointments.
- Move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
- Other transportation duties as requested by the Activities Director and or Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Must have an excellent driving record. Prefer Arizona (CDL) Commercial Driver's License with "P" (Passenger) rating but not required.
- Prefer experience with transporting people/goods in large vehicles (van, bus).
- Prefer experience in working with older adults.
- Specific Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action and to remain calm during emergencies.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public.
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age and of good moral character.
- Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Possess the ability to seek new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
- Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Be able to use a bus lift and appropriately secure a wheelchair in the bus or be willing to learn.
