Production Supervisor


Basic Scope/Purpose: (The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)


The Production Supervisor coordinates the daily work flow of manufacturing to meet our delivery and production goals, trains all associates in manufacturing methods, safety procedures and policies, and is an integral part of the manufacturing team which pursues continuous improvement by soliciting ideas from the Operators. The Production Supervisor is a role model and leader to all production associates, displaying professionalism, high quality and safety standards, and ethical conduct at all times.

  • Plans and schedules the work of associates to meet delivery and production requirements.
  • Coaches/trains associates to meet established production goals.
  • Ensures that all associates are properly trained in safety procedures.
  • Identifies and aggressively eliminates unsafe conditions.
  • Conducts accident investigations including action plans to prevent further occurrences.
  • Conducts performance appraisals and provides associate feedback in a timely manner.
  • Maintains good order and discipline consistent with company policy.
  • Responds to complaints quickly and tactfully.
  • Reviews, approves and updates associates time and attendance records.
  • Recommends improvement to existing procedures, processes and equipment by soliciting ideas from Operators.
  • Fosters a spirit of cooperation and consistency between shifts.
  • Has a periodic shift kick-off meeting with department associates
  • Meets with production crew on a weekly basis to review Safety, Quality and Production from past week and to review KPM metrics.
  • Is vested in the success of their operators (safety, quality, training, production).
  • Promotes effective two-way communication with Group Lead, Production Associates, Quality and Engineering (written and verbal).
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of new Associate training.
  • Collect information for and generate Daily Shift Turnover Report and then meets with oncoming Supervisor / Group Lead to review.
  • Ability to listen and understand feedback from Operators, Technicians and Quality.
  • Ensures required documentation is correct and accurate.
  • Basic process issue identification and problem solving.
  • Completes special projects as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and Promote Fenner Precision Polymers Values and Behaviors at all times.

  • Provide leadership, direction, and resources essential to maintain EHS policies, rules and work instructions as the fundamental priority in all operations
  • Hold associates accountable for their safety and health responsibilities
  • Actively discourage short cuts
  • Consistently and fairly enforce safe work practices and EHS policies, rules and work instructions
  • Be conscientious in following EHS policies, rules and work instructions that apply to the area
  • Set a good example by following EHS safe work practices, policies, rules, and work instructions Engage the workforce through safety contacts and floor walks that address housekeeping, safety inspections, equipment inspections, and safety observations
  • Ensure hazards, near miss, injuries, and unsafe acts and conditions are reported through the incident database
  • Reinforce safety margins through active participation in incident investigations, corrective actions, managed shift changes, toolbox talks, pre-tasking, STOP WORK, and task scanning

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior supervision experience required; 3-5 years preferred

Salary : $55,800 - $70,700
