Product Manager
Basic Scope/Purpose: (The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)
The Product Manager will leverage strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, keen business acumen and inputs from a cross-functional, global team to support a range of activities: from analyzing market trends, defining customer needs and evaluating the competitive landscape to developing and executing winning product roadmaps and pricing strategies.
They will interface regularly with R&D, engineering, sales, supply chain, finance and operations to position Fenner PRP as the leading provider of High-Tech Coated Fabrics

- Develop product strategy and optimize product portfolio, providing planning and project prioritization.
- Oversees the development of actionable product roadmaps by integrating inputs from cross-functional stakeholders in our business objectives & product strategy.
- Oversees product positioning in the marketplace, including rationalizing pricing strategy based on market conditions.
- Owns the pricing strategy through the product life cycle.
- Owns the balanced scorecard for their product line and drives the development and execution of the roadmap to improvement.
- Addresses operational issues associated with quality, delivery, and production.
- Anticipating and communicating issues, recommending corrective action, and taking independent remedial actions and reporting outcomes
· Maintains and promotes Fenner Values and Behaviors at all times.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Go-to-market strategy and product roadmap ownership for assigned markets and products.
- Market size and segmentation analysis. Support the development and maintenance of market quantification models, sources for market data and a system to track market size and its changes over time.
- Customer needs analysis and voice-of-customer feedback.
- Driving pipeline growth by working closely with global sales teams.
- Strategic annual short term and long-range market planning to maximize growth.
- Generate deliverables to support strategic decision-making processes with respect to organic as well as inorganic growth.
- The support of the development and maintenance of a systemic approach to competitive intelligence.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize legislative, competitive, and technical discontinuities and their impact, generating insight around opportunities or threats.
- Generate growth through collaboration of cross-functional teams (including R&D, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain & Operations).
Career Progression Opportunities: (example: junior or senior levels)
· Associate Product Manager will carry out the general responsibilities of a Product Manager with guidance from the Product Management Team.
· Senior Product Manager will handle a broader product portfolio or large dollar value P&L as well as coach or mentor other Product Managers.
Education and/or Relative Experience: (The level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.)(Also show level of education needed for Career Progression)
· Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Experience with a technical product line required
· 5 Years Product Management experience with a B to B technical product line preferred
· Proven experience rationalizing a product line while growing top and bottom line preferred
· Experience growing a product line via organic means and integration of acquired/bought in products preferred
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred
· MBA preferred
Associate Product Manager:
· Bachelor’s Degree Required
· 3 years of experience with a technical product line required
· 3 years of ancillary experience in purchasing, sales, engineering or marketing in a B to B environment
Senior Product Manager:
· 7-10 years Product Management or equivalent experience
· May or may not manage or supervisor other Product Managers
· MBA highly preferred
