What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Fermented Food Holdings?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations within the production department. Responsible for direct supervision of the production lines in accordance with Plant Policies and Procedures. The Plant Supervisor shall also be responsible for the direct supervision of all production personnel in their specific department, whether they are seasonal, temporary, part-time or full-time employees engaged in the production of product.
OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES:
· Supervise production line operation in accordance with plan policies and SOP’s to meet production goals.
· Monitor and adjust supply inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
· Monitor the product schedules and communicate all deviations.
· Coordinate production startups, shutdowns and changeovers.
· Coordinate appropriate staffing levels
· Schedule and conduct line meetings.
· Ensuring product quality while coordinating with Quality Assurance personnel.

· Must be able to work overtime when required to do so.
· Ability to perform assigned tasks under time pressure.
· Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Demonstrated willingness to effectively assist other departments and lines as required or deemed necessary.
· Maintain existing production facilities and equipment.
· Participate in designing and implementing continuous improvement processes.
· Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
· Maintains compliance with company policies, GMP’s, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
· Helps develop and implement safety awareness programs, communicate safety issues, correct safety related problems, and lead investigations into safety related issues.
· Develops department employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of rules and policies, while building employee morale and motivation.
· Evaluate performance and production of staff; maintain records of performance.
· Takes necessary action to eliminate delays to production and shipping schedules.
· Serves as a member of Plant Leadership Team.
· Other duties as directed by the Plant Manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Possess a strong inventory management background.
· Possess excellent ERP software skills; including but not limited to an understanding of BOMs, component consumption, shop area cleaning, etc.
· A passion for safety improvement with a belief that all incidents are preventable.
· A drive for results with a passion for process improvement and people development
· Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a professional team.
· Familiarity with team building techniques.
· Experience dealing with employee relations issues.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Food industry experience preferred, not required.
· 5 years of manufacturing experience as a production supervisor or manager.
· Must be able to demonstrate exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
· Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels in the organization.
· Be Flexible and ability to make effective decisions under pressure, work within deadlines.
· Good understanding of health and safety best practices within a manufacturing environment
· Ability to work w/minimal or no supervision.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $51,206.05 - $65,000.00 per year
