Responsibilities and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques
- Experience in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Ability to perform complex chemical analysis and interpretation of results
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a laboratory setting
- 24 hour on call during duty week
- Maintain Class "C" driver's license with the ability to drive a company vehicle to job sites and field offices
- Load and unload pelican cases and lab equipment weighing /- 70 lbs
- Work in all type of weather conditions
- Ability to work in a toxic atmospheric environment (Hydrogen Sulfide Gas) while wearing a self-contained full-face sealed respiratory equipment weighing /- 30 lbs
- Ability to climb oil storage tank stairways while wearing a self-contained full-face sealed respiratory equipment weighing /- 30 lbs.
- Ability to assist a fellow co-worker in the event of an emergency by dragging them out of harm's way
- Conduct lab analysis at benchtop during an 8 hour day
- Knowledgeable of ASTN and GPA methods and calculations
- Ability to communicate lab procedures and sampling methods to fellow co-workers and to customers
- Conduct quality checks on lab data
- Ability to process reports sitting at a desk for 8 hours
- Attend applicable training courses
- Familiarize with FESCO's company handbook and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as directed
