We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate Sr IT Systems Engineer to join the talented IT Department at Festival Foods. The IT System Engineering team is responsible for enterprise servers, storage, backups\recovery, patching, data center management along with our Azure environments across our 48 Store locations (and growing) along with our two data centers in WI.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for backup\recovery, availability, monitoring, capacity planning, patch management, configuration management, system documentation, systems adhere to relevant corporate policies, capacity planning and maintaining a 3-year technology roadmap for assigned infrastructure systems.
- Provides Level 3 support for complex technical issues. Plays the technical point person through resolution. Facilitate technical working sessions with vendor and required Associates through resolution. Takes ownership to restore service and root cause resolution.
- Leads sessions to create or modify architectures to ensures systems, services or solutions (e.g. Backups) are architected to meets the future needs of the organization.
- Responsible for enabling proactive monitoring, adhering to system availability SLAs and capacity planning for assigned infrastructure systems.
- Assist with budget forecasting based on life cycle management and capacity management.
- Ensures assigned systems or services are patched and configured per standards.
- Introduces solutions (tools, automation, processes, reporting) to improve team’s patching and configuration management maturity (e.g. audit reports).
- Documents assigned system(s) or service(s) and create Knowledge Base (KB Articles) to assist the Service Desk with improving our first call resolution.
- Ensures assigned systems or services are adhere to relevant corporate policies.
- Advise on a technology roadmap for assigned infrastructure systems.
- Evaluate, analyze, and recommend new technologies and vendor products relating to existing and future business requirements.
- Mentor other System Engineers by providing technical guidance and assistance.
- Lead medium to large technology initiatives independently.
- Effectively work with key stakeholders to reach a resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring proper resolution to escalated issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in professional experience.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
- Requires excellent project organization and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.
EXPERIENCE
- Eight (8) or more years of experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer or related experience.
- Junior level experience with Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104). Implementing, managing, and monitoring an organization’s Microsoft Azure environment, including virtual networks, storage, compute, identity, security, and governance
- Experience with VMware and Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Experience must include services design, operating system enterprise administration, performance management, use of systems management tools, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Understanding of operational best practices, configuration management, and security controls.
- Experience with scripting and/or automation tools.
- Proven experience supporting a 24X7 operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The Senior Systems Engineer is a full-time, salaried position. May be required to provide on call support (weekends and holidays), and occasional travel as needed.
- Sitting/Standing at a computer 80% of the time.
- Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. is required.
