School Bus Driver

The Festus School District has immediate openings for
School Bus Driver

Qualifications: Minimum of HS Diploma. MUST have Class B CDL, Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Endorsement, & Air Brake Endorsement to be considered – NO EXCEPTIONS

Rate of Pay: $92.00 per day minimum. Pay rate dependent upon prior experience. Benefits included (Retirement)

Hours: Bus driver = 6:30am – 8:45 & 2:00 – 4:30 Monday - Friday

Deadline: Open until filled. ALL Positions begin asap

Duties and Responsibilities:

Bus Driver:

· Transport students of all ages to and from school and extra-curricular activities in a safe and timely manner.

· Follow bus routes as written and approved by the Director of Transportation.

· Manage student behavior and maintain discipline on the bus.

· Keep two-way radio on at all times that the bus is in operation.

· Assist administrative personnel, teachers, and parents in promoting a positive relationship between the school, students, and parents.

· Conduct and log pre-trip inspections to check for cleanliness, safety, proper mechanical functions and adequate fuel level.

· Conduct trip inspections after each run to check for vandalism, cleanliness, lost articles and sleeping children.

· Report mechanical problems to mechanics or director of transportation.

· Observe rules, regulations and responsibilities contained in board policies and transportation handbook.

· Attend meetings in accordance with departmental requirements.

· Complete all required forms completely and promptly.

· Report changes in route conditions to the transportation director as soon as possible.

· Maintain a good record of attendance.

· Maintain the confidentiality of students’ discipline and medical records.

· Keep the bus clean.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation
