What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Community Manager position at Fickling Management Services?
The Assistant Community Manager is responsible for many of the same tasks as the Community Manager with primary emphasis on receiving and posting monies, collections, accuracy of property management software and assisting the Community Manager with coordination of day-to-day activities of the community. Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reports, generating leases, maintaining and increasing occupancy, effectively communicating with residents and establishing a profitable renewal program.
Assistant Manager should be capable for operating the community in the absence of the Community Manager.
Requirements:
1. Must have 2 years’ experience in Residential Leasing/Sales with a strong customer service focus and sales drive. Successful applicants for this position will have strong communication, organization, and leadership skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office and experience Yardi.
2. Must have experience working with computers and be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Prior experience working with community management software and web-based programs required.
3. Must have affordable housing experience.
4. Possess a basic knowledge of lease agreements and terminology. Have a basic understanding of landlord/tenant laws and fair housing regulations.
5. Possess a basic knowledge of sales and marketing techniques, as well as bookkeeping and accounting theory and procedures. Have familiarity with personal computer and accounting software applications. Must be able to work with various kinds of people, maintaining a professional, positive tone.

All positions must be able to work scheduled hours and have flexibility for periodic additional hours including weekends depending on workflow, emergencies and owner requirements.
Must have access to reliable transportation for each workday. Must have a current valid driver’s license at all times while employed. Must have an effective communication system available in order to contact community or staff after hours. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
