The Role
Are you the ‘go to’ person on your team for learning new processes or technology? Do team members often approach you with questions on Excel or other technical tools? If so, you may be a great fit for a Risk Manager position! We are seeking a highly motivated individual contributor to join our Distribution and Global Services team. The Risk Manager will serve in a versatile role within the Strategy and Program Management Team with a primary responsibility for User Developed Application (UDA) oversight. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a desire to gain exposure to multiple Business Units (Workplace Investing, Personal Investing and Fidelity Institutional) as well as develop their automation and testing skillsets. Our group is passionate about modernizing risk management and testing through the use of data investigation. The ideal candidate has strengths as noted below, but more importantly, is willing to learn skills where needed.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- At least two years of experience in the financial services industry, or two years or more in one of the following: risk management, audit, and/or compliance related work. Multiple backgrounds preferred
- Strong analytical ability with an understanding of risk impact
- Practical knowledge and understanding of common reporting and visualization tools (ex. MS Excel, Tableau or similar applications)
- Possess a solid knowledge of Fidelity businesses and processes
- Creative problem solver with a curiosity fueled by current technology, and are interested in applying new technology-based solutions to our testing processes
- Organized and can lead multiple projects or activities simultaneously and can deliver results in an accurate and timely manner
- Self-starter, able to overcome unexpected obstacles, with little or no supervision
- Successfully collaborate with internal and external business partners to get the job done
- Apply sound judgment to recognize issues, assess risks, and identify items requiring additional risk mitigation
- Effectively communicate, both written and verbal, to all levels of management
The Team
This role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to work in a range of operational and regulatory functions, build strong risk management skills, and make an impact within critical and highly visible organizations. The team will think and work across Fidelity with partners in Fidelity Institutional (FI), Personal Investing (PI), and Workplace Investing (WI).
