Director of Business Services – Legal

Our client, an established international search firm, is actively expanding its team and looking to appoint a Director of Business Services to drive growth in their New York office. With a stellar reputation in placing professionals across Tax, Legal, and Risk & Compliance, the firm offers a unique opportunity to build out the Legal Business Services division, focused on non-practicing roles like Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Risk & Compliance, and HR within law firms across the U.S.
This is a pivotal role with autonomy to lead the division, backed by a well-resourced, collaborative team across the firm’s global offices in London, Frankfurt, and NYC. The position reports directly to the Executive Director in the UK, aligning with broader growth strategies. The Director of Business Services will:
- Drive the development and expansion of the Legal Business Services division for the U.S. market.
- Collaborate with the UK Executive Director to execute and align business strategies.
- Cultivate relationships with leading law firms, enhancing the brand’s footprint in the legal sector.
- Play a central role in client and candidate development, maintaining a 360-degree recruitment approach.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration with other teams within the global network.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in business development and placing roles within the legal sector, especially in law firms.
- Strong track record in full 360 recruitment, with expertise in non-practicing placements like Sales, Finance, HR, and Operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build robust, lasting relationships with clients and candidates.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of independence and accountability.
