JOB SUMMARY:Trained technician who assists the practitioner and registered nurse in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center, in accordance with established procedures. Works under the direct supervision of the RN. Functions cooperatively with practitioners and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:1) High school graduate preferred. 2) One or more years related work experience preferred 3) Valid CPR certification required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Transport patients to and from the OR. Assists RN in positioning patient for procedure. Attach monitor leads on patient for CRNA. Record in and out times, diagnosis, procedure and OR staff on surgical log. Assist surgeon with positioning of equipment prior to procedures and patient aftercare as needed following procedures.Assist RN in obtaining supplies outside the OR and other duties as needed.Maintains infection control practices.
