Description
Purpose
Provide support to equity and fixed income trading team. Duties focused on tasks related to supporting the equity and fixed income trading operations and will include coordination with trade execution, allocation and settlement details, custodians, and brokers. Additional support will be given to other areas of the organization including compliance and operations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities to be performed with or without accommodation
Provide support to equity and fixed income trading team
Document and maintain procedures
Support trade processes and maintain relationship with approved brokers
Assist in settlement process through DTCC trade confirm reconciliation
Respond to trade queries from brokers and custodians
Resolve issues with trade data discrepancies
Communicate effectively with brokers, portfolio managers, and operations team members accordingly
Aid in tracking best execution daily
Identify workflow and system enhancements
Ensure all allocations and trade notifications are sent each day
Compile data for report generation
Availability during ‘market hours’ – 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Regular attendance is a requirement of this job
Other Duties/Responsibilities
Support trade error resolution and tracking
Assist and/or participate with projects
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses required to perform essential functions
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related subject, or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities required to perform essential functions
Advanced knowledge of investments and trading acumen
Strong problem solving skills
Attention to detail
Presentation / Communication skills
Ability to meet client needs and expectations
Ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency including key tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Experience with Bloomberg, Factset, and Advent systems
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form to all levels of the organization
Skill in completing assignments accurately with attention to detail
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
Work Environment and Physical Demands required to perform essential functions
Moderate noise (business office with computers, phone, printers, light traffic)
Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time
Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone
Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within investment management industry
2-3 years of investment support/operations environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize time and perform tasks
Deadline oriented
Proficiency with Excel
