We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and preparing financial reports. This position supervises the accounting staff and coordinates the duties of the accounting department.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Oversee and prepare month end closing journal entries
- Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Prepare monthly financial statement package
- Assist in annual budget preparation & financial forecasting
- Post monthly budget reports for department managers
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results vs budget/forecast
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis of expense accounts, and identify trends
- Provide financial analysis support to other departments of the company, as needed
- Maintain fixed asset system, which includes reconciliation to general ledger and monthly recording of depreciation expense
- Provide direction and support for accounts payable & accounts receivable duties, as needed
- Direct workflow of accounts payable and other accounting personnel (not including billing staff)
- Provide production analysis for Operations Management
- Assist with all external audits
- Protect organizations assets by keeping financial information confidential
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by Controller and CFO
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum 4 or more years of experience in accounting, with a portion of it including supervisory responsibilities required.
- NetSuite Accounting software experience is highly desired.
- Must exhibit PC literacy, a working knowledge of MS Word, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrate strong technical skills, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team player who consistently and effectively collaborates with other departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
