A local client is seeking an experienced and hard-working candidate for a contract Senior Accountant role. The ideal candidate will have several years of accounting experience, an acute attention to detail, and a desire to contribute as a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare monthly financial statements and present to the board
- Collect, review, and process invoices for payment
- Create billings for accounts receivable and issue purchase orders as needed
- Calculate and prepare grant drawdowns
- Maintain financial software and update as needed
- Assist in annual budget preparation
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in finance, accounting, or business.
- 4 years experience in accounting
- Experience in government accounting a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting policies, principles and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines
Compensation:
- $35 - $40/hr
