Position Summary

As a Home Lending Advisor at First Alliance Credit Union, you will play a vital role in turning homeownership possibilities into reality. Combining presence, persistence, and passion, you will work directly with members and community partners to provide expert guidance on manufactured home loans, home equity loans, and lines of credit. Through financial education, personalized support, and community outreach, you will empower individuals to achieve financial stability and homeownership.

Essential Functions

  • Member Engagement: Actively engage with members and potential members in the community, using your expertise and passion to coach and guide them towards homeownership and financial success.
  • Loan Origination and Processing: Meet with members to understand their financials goals, assess their needs, and assist in completing the loan application along with coaching on other items necessary. Manage the loan request from application to booking with attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Financial Education: Provide members with financial education and guidance on homeownership, ensuring they fully understand available products and services, the lending process, and their options.
  • Strong Product Knowledge: Maintain deep understanding of the credit union products, particularly home loans, manufactured homes, home equity lines of credit and loans, as well as real estate trends and financial opportunities.
  • Community Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key community members and organizations to foster trust and create ongoing opportunities for homeownership in areas we serve.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure all loan processes meet both internal and external expectations.
  • Member Experience Excellence: Ensure a high level of service is provided to every member. This includes consistent follow-up, clear communication, and persistence to get the work done accurately, all while maintaining a superior member experience.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to provide the best possible solutions for members. Actively refer and partner with other teams to cross-sell complementary products and services.
  • Communication & Work Quality: Maintain strong communication skills, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and professionalism in all member interactions. Ensure high-quality work and a consistent and effective approach to all loan transactions.

Pay And Benefits

$23.21 Hourly

There may be an increase of base pay based on skills and experience.

Requirements:

Competencies

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.

Experience: 3–5 years in member service, with at least 1 year in lending.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust and rapport.
  • Proven ability to achieve goals and deliver results.
  • Proficiency with technology, including electronic communication tools.
  • Familiarity with loan processes and credit union products.
  • Spanish-speaking proficiency preferred.

  • Member Experience: The degree to which member service is demonstrated in the day to day business environment. The level of support for co-workers as well as outside members, vendors, contractors, and legal counsel etc.
  • Loan Growth: The level of loan growth achieved as compared against a pre-determined goal. The degree of effectiveness demonstrated in making loans.
  • Decision-Making / Judgment: The ability to make prudent decisions that are timely, well researched, and reflect awareness of impact.
  • Policy Compliance: The degree to which the employee has knowledge of and complies with organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Communication: The ability to effectively converse and listen to both internal and external members. The use of proper written and grammatical skills, and the meaningful application of computer technology (e-mail, Internet, web-based vendor platforms, etc.)
  • Business Development: The degree to which results are demonstrated in developing business, generating leads, expanding the client base, and developing revenue opportunities.
