Accounting & Reimbursement Assistant
The AR Medical
Billing Specialists (MBS) report directly to the Revenue Cycle Director and is
responsible for the medical record management and collection of service and
product charges due from our residents, Medicaid, Medicare, and their
third-party health insurance payors. As
part of our revenue cycle management team, the MBS is assigned an equitable
portion of our resident account database.
Working independently, the MBS performs a wide variety of tasks that are
designed to process all types of third-party health insurance claims in
accordance with generally accepted record management, accounting practices and
all third-party health insurance payor rules and regulations. This position is a critical part of the
business operation and directly affect the cash flow of our organization.

Qualifications:
- Associates
Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Industry
Certificates for job-related topics are plus.
- A
minimum of 3-years’ experience in a healthcare provider’s business office
setting, involved in the full range of resident accounting operations
including: Registration; Charges; Cash applications & Contractual
Allowances; Third-Party Insurance Claims Processing Routines; Self Pay
Collections; Account analysis.
- A
minimum of 3-years’ experience with a third-party health insurance claims
office or plan administrator involved in processing of health provider
claims.
- A
working knowledge of NF, SNF, AL, RAL billing and collections is preferred
but not necessary.
- A
working knowledge of basic accounting transactions analysis and basic
third-party health insurance claims processing rules and regulations is
preferred.
