What are the responsibilities and job description for the One-year old Assistant Teacher position at First Baptist Child Development Cen?
The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall quality of care. She must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. The Teacher's Assistance also helps the teacher by making sure the toddlers are well taken care of as well as aids in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.
Duties
Assist in all aspects of care and nurturing of the toddlers
Aid in the development of the children with age-appropriate activities.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom and materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and daily reports.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Instruct the young child in bible stories and bible songs.
Requirements
Must have 6 months experience in a licensed child care center.
Desire to work 40-hour work week.
High energy.
Physically able to lift toddlers (20-30 pounds).
Ability to work well with others.
An understanding of child development.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
High School Diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
Knowledge of DSS/DHEC guidelines.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
College credit in early childhood education or related field of study. CDA or 6 hours of ECE credit preferred.
