Position Title: Kids Ministry Paid Teacher
Staff Classification: Kids Ministry Team/ Part-Time (about 15 hours) Non-Exempt (more hours will be allotted during special events such as Vacation Bible School)
Position Summary: The childcare teacher cares for Preschool children during Sunday Services, Sunday School, Wednesday evening activities, Mother’s Day Out, Kid’s Night Out, and special events at First Baptist Church of El Paso
Wage: Wage consideration will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and background (Starting wage is $8.00/hr.). All raises are based on experience, performance, and the annual development of the personnel budget within the church operations budget.
Responsible to: Minister to Preschool and Children with direct supervision from Preschool Ministry Associate
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Arrive on time for each event.
· Engage and supervise children birth - kindergarten, with occasional supervision of elementary age children
· Respectfully communicate with children, parents, and volunteers
· Prepare and implement Bible lesson, crafts, and activities
· Manage a classroom effectively
· Ensure a fun, clean, safe environment
· Change diapers, assist with bathroom monitoring
· Feed children
· Clean and disinfect toys, classroom, and preschool areas as needed
· Be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
· Calmly respond to emergency situations. Follow written policies and procedures and direction from Preschool Ministry Associate
· Follow all safety and security procedures as related to this position
· Other duties as assigned by the Minister to Preschool and Children
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Maintains a vibrant, growing personal relationship with God
2. Can articulate with personal conviction the values and vision of First Baptist Church
3. Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally
4. Committed to the mission of FBC and the Kids Ministry to connect kids with the life and the love of Jesus
5. Must speak English (Spanish is also preferred)
6. Should have at least a High School diploma or equivalent certification
7. Preferred 1 year of relevant experience in childcare
8. Must be CPR and First Aid Certified (needs to be obtained within one month of hiring)
9. Must have background check and complete training in accordance with Ministry Safe guidelines

Pay: From $8.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
