REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Good computer/data entry skills required. A detailed working knowledge of Excel software applications and the ability to create spreadsheets is preferred.
Must demonstrate a positive attitude, professional image, be self-motivated and have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in paying bills for the Credit Union, including posting expenses to the appropriate general ledger accounts and maintaining accurate payable and fixed asset inventory files.
- May reconcile cash accounts at other institutions, internal general ledger accounts and wires.
- Recaps, records, and balances all daily business transactions for all departments and branches as assigned.
- Balances general ledger accounts and posts entries as assigned.
- Assists with sending member wires and posting of credit union employee expense reimbursements.
- Works directly with other departments regarding correcting errors and answering questions relating to data entry.
- Assists in preparing statistical and accounting records.
- Works and cooperates with auditors and examiners reviewing and researching the financial records of the Credit Union.
- Assists the AVP of Accounting and the Sr. Vice President of Finance with month-end closing of the credit union and related subsidiary organization(s).
- Is cross-trained and may act as a backup for other Accounting Specialists.
- Performs other duties assigned by the AVP of Accounting and the Sr. Vice President of Finance or Chief Financial Officer.

- Develop ways to provide requested information and support functions to staff in a beneficial format.
- Represents the Credit Union with honesty, integrity and trust at all times.
- Adheres to established internal policies and procedures for compliance. Completes required compliance training in a timely manner and complies with all regulations within scope of the position.
- Adheres to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act and anti-money laundering regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Potential exposure to the threat of violence at any time.
- Occasional business travel may be required.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
- Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.
