REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a proven track record in customer service. Exceptional computer/data entry and typing skills and a working knowledge of the Internet are required.

Must demonstrates a positive attitude, professional image, and be self-motivated and have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills. Prior banking experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and maintains a general understanding of compliance regulations and their impact on Credit Union operations. Works closely with supervisor to ensure changes required as a result of regulatory change are implemented.
  • Assists with department compliance reviews. Collaborates and coordinates with Credit Union departments and functional areas on the development of internal controls and compliance measures, at the direction of supervisor.
  • Works independently or in a team environment on assigned projects to maintain Credit Union compliance with state and federal regulations as well as Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Conducts research, gathers and analyzes data. Performs risk assessments to identify risks and vulnerabilities associated with new products and services, and technologies as they are introduced at the credit union. Recommends procedures and processes to control and mitigate material operational risks and supports process improvements to supervisor.
  • Assists with the credit union’s Vendor Oversight Program by reviewing the Credit Union’s third party relationships to ensure their continued compliance with contracts, as well as the third party’s financial stability and risks related to the third party’s contact with sensitive information held by the Credit Union. Creates documented reviews of proposed third party relationships for submission for the Information Security Committee.
  • Reviews reports and monitors accounts and loans for anomalies and functional abnormalities. Understands the relationships between fields within the Credit Union’s core system and can troubleshoot problems and errors.
  • Assists in the development of standardized presentations for use in compliance training of Credit Union staff. Develops materials to ensure member awareness of security vulnerabilities and fraud.
  • Reviews system programming changes that impact compliance and risk. Reviews provided information about upcoming releases and service packs for the core system for compliance concerns and risk. Ensures changes associated with the releases are properly reviewed prior to installation.
  • Reviews and assists with the development and revision of disclosures, documents and forms to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and correspondence from Credit Union staff, performs research to respond to staff compliance questions and directs specific questions to appropriate departments.
  • Is cross-trained and may act as a backup for others in the Compliance Department.
  • Represents the Credit Union with honesty, integrity and trust at all times.
  • Adheres to established internal policies and procedures for compliance.
  • Completes required compliance training in a timely manner and complies with all regulations within scope of the position.
  • Adheres to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act and anti-money laundering regulations.

  • Provides exemplary internal customer service and fosters teamwork throughout the Credit Union.
  • Recognizes and listens to member/coworker requests and/or concerns and identifies their needs so they may be better served.
  • Assists with gathering information as required of the position and as requested by the Manager.
  • Adequately performs operational functions to fulfill the requirements of the position and provides other support functions as requested.
  • Communicates effectively with others by demonstrating positive listening and personal communication skills, including providing timely responses to questions and concerns.
  • Be a team player, a good coach, and serve as a role model for all credit union staff.
  • Maintains punctuality while adhering to the assigned work schedule.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to the threat of violence at any time.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required.
  • Repetitive motions and extensive keyboarding may be required.

Salary : $34,300 - $43,400
