As a Deposit Operations Specialist I, you'll provide technical support and expertise to both branch and administrative teams. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals with a foundational understanding of deposit operations and a passion for delivering exceptional internal support. You'll handle everything from managing IRA accounts to maintaining documentation, answering operational questions, and assisting with training.
What You'll Do:
IRA Administration:
- Set up and maintain IRA accounts in compliance with IRS and association guidelines.
- Manage contributions, distributions, and regulatory reporting (e.g., 1099R, 5498).
- Provide IRA-related guidance to branch staff and customers, including training sessions.
Deposit Administrative Support:
- Respond to operational questions from branch and customer service teams.
- Manage a variety of systems, including dormant accounts, escheatment, and safe deposit boxes.
- Oversee core system administration and assist with deposit product pricing surveys.
- Support certifications, reporting, and compliance documentation.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain and update procedure manuals for deposit operations.
- Work closely with internal teams to streamline processes and resolve issues.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Compliance:
- Adhere to and enforce compliance policies, including BSA/AML regulations.
- Assist with audits and regulatory examination preparation.
What We're Looking For:
- Education & Experience:
- A.A. in Business Administration (preferred) or High School Diploma with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in operations or new accounts.
- Skills & Proficiencies:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with proficiency in Outlook.
- Familiarity with core deposit systems and reporting software.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal communication with a range of stakeholders.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and make sound decisions.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
