What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Officer position at First Hawaiian Bank?
We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, analytical Compliance Officer to join our Service Delivery Division. In this role, you will act as the Retail Banking Group’s compliance and risk management officer for the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)/Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act (FDICIA), Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), and other regulatory/legislative/network association requirements that affect the business. Oversee the overall implementation and monitoring of the Retail Banking Group’s compliance programs and its ongoing development for alignment with the changing regulatory and operational environment.
The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (Hours may vary)
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- 3 years’ work experience with compliance laws and regulations required.
- 4 - 5 years’ work experience in banking industry preferred.
- 2 years’ work experience in banking/financial industry compliance preferred.
- Computer/Technical: Working or functional proficiency sufficient to apply the use of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau) without assistance and minimal supervision.
- Solid critical thinking skills and good written and verbal communication.
- Able to handle confidential matters judiciously.
- Possesses attention to detail with excellent follow-through and able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and applies logical and critical thought processes when developing and recommending solutions.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
