IT Governance Officer

We are currently seeking an experienced, highly analytical, collaboration-focused IT Governance Officer to join our Enterprise Technology Management Team.  In this role, you will coordinate, analyze, develop, and report on IT Governance activities within the Bank, including those related to IT policies and procedures, technology and tools, compliance, risks and controls, and best practices.  You will also assist with development, oversight, and management of IT Governance program, as well as prepare and maintain management reports for key IT activities.  Some additional highlights of this role include:

• Developing repeatable and manageable processes for oversight, monitoring and escalation to ensure effectiveness of IT Governance program, controls, and procedures, and continuously identifying opportunities to improve the IT Governance program through innovation with tangible value to the organization and improve risk management.
• Overseeing tracking and reporting of remediation measures that have been taken to address deficiencies identified in monitoring reviews, self-assessments, automated assessments, examinations, and audits (internal and external).
• Monitoring, analyzing, and responding to regulatory technology management changes issued by the FDIC, FRB, FFIEC and other regulatory agencies as applicable to FHB and holding company by completing reviews, facilitating training, and cross communication among stakeholders.
• Recommending mitigating and/or compensating controls and providing guidance to ETM managers and staff to minimize risk exposure and improve the effectiveness of controls.
• Preparing and maintaining management reports for key IT activities, identifying and assessing risk information provided by various areas for solutions delivery, audit/compliance, Business Continuity, Vendor Management, Operations Services, validating for accuracy and appropriateness, formatting templates and maintaining documents for presentation to management (BRC, ERC, Senior Management Committee, IT Steering Committee), and managing timing and schedules for reporting and key events/due dates.
• Developing and conducting education programs for IT Governance and other related activities in conjunction with bank and regulatory requirements including reporting.  Point of contact for business units requesting assistance with IT compliance.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business Management, Risk Management, Compliance, (Management) Information Systems, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent work or banking experience. Two (2) years banking industry experience preferred
• Three (3) years’ experience in IT, risk, audit, or compliance field.  Five (5) years’ experience in IT-related work preferred.
• Demonstrated abilities to keep abreast with IT best practices and apply this knowledge to effectively perform job responsibilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to define, identify, research, analyze, obtain management approval, and effect the practical and beneficial application of best practices.
