Summary
Opens accounts, explains, sells and processes different financial services for the bank by the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greets customers.
- Interviews customers to obtain information and explains financial services such as Checking and Savings Accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, savings bonds, debit cards, online banking, safe deposit boxes, etc. and sells such items.
- Enters account information obtained from customer into the computer to generate signature cards, CDs, IRAs, Debit Cards, Online Banking, Safe Deposit Boxes, Address Changes, etc.
- Cashes in, makes transfers or makes withdrawals from certificates of deposits and IRAs and other accounts per customer request.
- Balances certificates of deposit, IRAs, and Safe Deposit Boxes for all branches to general ledger daily.
- Helps and or assists customers in balancing their checkbooks, ledgers to their monthly statements.
- Sends or solicits customers Thank you, Welcome Letters through CoreIQ.
- Validates input on maintenance and new setups from previous day.
- Validates input on maintenance for address changes.
- Validates input on maintenance and new setups for Safe Deposit Boxes and Online Banking for all branches.
- Helps customers set up direct deposit, automatic withdrawals, change savings bond, order forms for debit cards, orders and researches orders for checks, sets up and assists customers for telephone banking, sets up and assists customers for Online Banking.
- Performs maintenance on checking and savings accounts, CDs, IRAs, or HSAs, etc.
- Answers customer questions and investigates and corrects errors.
- Deals with all aspects of reporting and processing IRAs and HSAs through Ascensus for all branches.
- Admits customers to safe deposit boxes.
- Mails maturity notices and advice of credits and disclosures for CDs and IRAs.
- Sets rates for interest bearing products weekly.
- Maintains all aspects of safe deposit boxes such as: generating and mailing notices for annual rent, posting payments, balancing transaction report, collecting past due rent and drilling boxes.
- Organizes and participates in the annual Gold Club Picnic.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
