Retail Banking MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and oversees all Retail Deposit services, including new accounts, IRA’s and daily operations of the bank and supervises employees. Ensures bank and regulatory policies and procedures are followed. Ensures all customers receive prompt and courteous service. Works to ensure maximization of customer relationships based on customer need and aligned with the Bank’s core values. Manages operations of all branches including BOM at Main Office, such as security (including opening and closing of the branches), scheduling of the branch and oversight of maintenance. Performs routine teller duties and opens new accounts on needed basis. Performs a full range of retail banking services, including consumer loans, for individual customers, with emphasis on deposit and fee-based services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Is a working manager. Drives all aspects of the Retail sales and service process for the bank. Develops branch sales plans. Promotes, explains, and educations Retail banking products to the employees. Asks clients for referrals. Does whatever is necessary daily to service customers, including potential backup in Teller area, new accounts and answering phones. Management of operations of the branch, which includes security, scheduling, and oversight of Universal Bankers.
2. Supervises a staff of people, primarily universal bankers, and handles branch retail scheduling at all locations. Management oversight of the Universal Bankers and New Account Specialists, including performance evaluations and goal setting. Assures effective communication across all regions, markets, and locations. Regularly communicates goals and results. Works with direct report to build culture characterized by teamwork and high morale.
3. Responsible for ensuring retention of profitable customers within the bank. Develops and implements plans to call on maturing accounts, sales leads, referrals, new account follow-up, and other prospecting opportunities for the designated market area. Proactively identifies sales opportunities with an emphasis on maximizing profitable client relationships. Tracks results and follows up as appropriate.
4. Authorizes transactions in accordance with bank policy (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, wire transfers, etc.). Addresses and resolves client concerns and inquiries. Ensures and is held accountable for the audit integrity, risk management, and security of the branch, as well as overall facility management and upkeep. Maintains thorough product knowledge of all retail bank products.
5. Responsible for assisting the BSA Officer with the BSA requirements, including the monitoring and reporting, and education to staff regarding this regulation.
6. Ensures applicable regulations, disclosures, policies, and procedures are followed and is trained on depository/lending compliance regulations. Also responsible in training Universal Bankers and New Account Specialists.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Takes credit applications for overdraft protection and consumer loans. Is a trained consumer lender. Ensures that applicable regulations, disclosures, policies, and procedures are observed, and credit quality is aligned with Loan Policy and credit quality guidelines.
· Performs all activities related to the opening or closing of various types of time and demand deposit accounts, including certificates of deposits, checking accounts, and savings products. Perform a wide range of services including, servicing and maintenance for, debit cards, CDs, HSAs, IRAs, safe deposit boxes, including address changes, stop payments, transfers, and processes check orders.
· When needed function as Teller, receiving and processing Teller transactions accurately and timely. Follows Bank procedures when performing transactions on teller system and other required equipment. Verifies and balances assigned cash drawer daily with minimal cash variances. Assists in reconciling errors or discrepancies for self and others. Maintains adequate cash and/or cash drawer limits as required by Bank policy.

Education
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination education and experience preferred.
· Specialized bank-related training

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed largely within the Bank. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional travel between offices and out-of-town/overnight business travel required. Serves as a representative of the Bank at appropriate functions.
