What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at First Quality Tissue, LLC?
Job Description:
- Performs and understands quality testing requirements for converting.
- Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.
- Follows existing procedures applying to the Quality System.
- Performs testing on Production samples at specified sampling frequencies in converting.
- Enters required test results into the Quality Data System.
- Reports test results to appropriate parties in a timely manner, and assists in correcting undesired quality situations.
- Performs special testing for support of product development, validation, and product investigations (nonconforming goods, complaints, recalls, and returned goods).
- Assists in preparing and providing material, chemicals, equipment, and documents needed for performing quality functions.
- Completes assigned reports and recommends appropriate actions based on findings.
- Fills in for production personnel as required for business.
- Assists in internal audits as issued by the Quality Manager.
- Verifies data within the Quality Data System database.
- Verifies Converting and Paper Machine lab equipment is working within acceptable tolerances in converting.
- Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
- Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
- Follows necessary GMP and ISO regulations.
Qualifications:
- Standard knowledge of computers and basic office software.
- Familiarity with a formal Quality System (ISO 9000, GMP/ QSR, etc.) preferred.
- Basic math skills; statistics knowledge a plus.
- Attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education or experience in quality or laboratory testing preferred.
Opening will be for a 12 hour night shift position.
